Keswick Museum was founded in 1873 by the Keswick Literary & Scientific Society with early
collections focussing on natural history and geology. Canon H.D. Rawnsley, one of the founders of the National Trust and Keswick School of Industrial Arts 1884, became an early trustee. The museum now houses a collection of the work of this school which existed for over 100 years. Lorraine worked with the museum to design and make pieces characteristically combining metal and clay and inspired by their collection of the Arts and Crafts era.
