Tumble Drier Lockdown Kiln for “Hey Clay” Crafts Council 2020

10am Sunday 17th June

Last year as usual was free open studio day for “Hey Clay” in conjunction with the Crafts Council of Great Britain with 60 odd members of enthusiastic public throwing pots at Woodsetton Art Pottery. One massive biological disaster later and so we’re back to basics here at home, Neolithic BBQ firing in our old tumble drier instead. It’s known to work; the whole of human history is catalogued using potsherds. So we thought we’d make some of those! No safe prior electric biscuit firing here! So join us for potential disaster as the sun dips below the horizon of the Black Country. Materials collected ready and the Campari is essential, it’s flammable after all. See you later.

8.30pm Sunday

A few faint bangs aside, it’s going well. And if your wondering, safety conscious potters of the world; where all my PPE is, I gave it to the old people’s home next door!
